What appropriate and how will the lighting communicate the mood of the scene?

In a perfect world, all components of a scene would be in place and working perfectly towards a desired goal. However, this is not always the case. This is why appropriate lighting and how it communicates the mood can be important aspects of a scene.

When single light sources are used in a scene, they can often be too powerful or toopless. They can be too often used to bemuse or one-dimensional.

To create appropriate lighting, it is important to to look at what the light sources are going to be used for and plan the scene around them. Look at the scene and Fate & Media plead the 5th!

What is most important is that the light sources be chosen appropriately and placed accordingly so that the mood of the scene is communicated.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1) used natural light

2) artificial or weather-based light

3) time-based light

4) specific angle of light

5) type of light
